Darlene and Andrew got married in April at the Village Club at Lake Success in Long Island. This was a wedding I had been looking forward to for a long time. Getting to know Darlene and Andrew over the past several months has been a pleasure. (I shot their engagement session in November.) In that time I’ve learned that they are funny, intelligent, kind, empathetic individuals. As a couple, they are even better. You can see their love written all over their faces. Speaking of faces, doesn’t Darlene look like Marisa Tomei?! (YES!) Besides being a beautiful couple, Darlene and Andrew are the kind of people that value their friends and family, who were so happy to celebrate their wedding day. You sorta have to figure a couple must be pretty special when they have a bridal party of 20 people!
I had never been to the Village Club before, but I thought it was perfect for them. After their unique and touching ceremony, the ballroom was transformed into a modern purple space filled with black & white accents and colorful flowers. It was gorgeous. From the personalized getting ready shirts, to the bridesmaids’ flower crowns, to the place cards, table decorations and so much more, this wedding was beautiful in every way. Their day was also filled with a ton of special moments, but one of my favorites was just before their first look. As Darlene was getting ready to leave the bridal suite to see her groom for the first time, surrounded by her friends and family, she started crying tears of happiness. It was so touching, and I felt so honored that I was getting to capture it. I know Darlene and Andrew have a bright future ahead of them as Mr. & Mrs., and I can’t wait to see where life takes them. Congratulations on the “best day ever!”
