Kimmy + Alex = THE BEST. They live in California, so I didn’t get to meet them before their wedding day in April, but we had spoken on the phone a few times. Kimmy and I were immediately kindred spirits. She was so easy to work with, and just the happiest, sweetest, most bestest bride ever. Basically the anti-bridezilla. I was anxious to meet Alex after spending the morning with her, and it turns out he’s just as awesome as she is. They had their first look in a very unique way, in her Aunt’s home surrounded by her family. It was really special. After they had their first look, Kimmy instantly relaxed and was ready to go. It was amazing to see the comfort and companionship they find in one another, and how quickly Alex’s presence calmed her. They are a great pair.
They were married at the Brick House in Wyckoff, but first, we hopped over the Wildlife Conservatory in town for some pre-wedding portraits. It’s gorgeous there, and I was happy to find some beautiful cherry blossoms and pathways to shoot near. There was even a swan in the lake there. Soon after, they had a beautiful ceremony where they exchanged personal vows and Kimmy’s brothers officiated the ceremony. It was hard to hold back the tears while I was shooting! I learned a lot about this couple and their families that day, who welcomed me in as if I was family. These two are surrounded by so much love from their friends and family, who were overjoyed to see them get married, and treated me like a guest. As you’ll see in the reception photos, it was a group who definitely knows how to party! I was so happy I got to meet this couple, and hope to see them again one day in California or back in NJ for their next big milestone. Congratulations Kimmy + Alex!!
