I recently met with Mela + Jan at Grounds for Sculpture in Hamilton for their engagement session. It’s a really gorgeous outdoor sculpture museum (you should go there), and made the perfect backdrop for this whimsical session. There was something cool around every corner. I loved Jan’s wooden bowtie and shirt with little bicycles on it. Mela also had a wooden hair bow that matched. SO CUTE! When I was going through these photos, I was really struck by how happy this couple is together. I love the way they make each other laugh, and how you can see the love just radiating off them. You don’t need to be with them for too long before you realize they are the perfect match for each other. After the museum, we took a little break and met up again in Hoboken for some nighttime photos with the NYC skyline as our backdrop. I’ve never been asked to do an engagement session at night, so it was a fun change from the norm, and I think the results are gorgeous. Mela and Jan are a pleasure to shoot, and I can’t wait to capture their big day this summer.
