Maria + David

Posted October 26, 2016 | Category: Weddings

On a misty, rainy day in September, Maria + David got married at the historic Flanders Hotel in Ocean City. They have so much style and personality, and after their engagement session, I was really looking forward to this wedding. Unfortunately, after some pregnancy complications landed me in the hospital, I had to find a replacement photographer just one week before Maria and David’s big day. It felt like a huge disaster and I was so upset I was going to have to miss their big day. That’s where Lauren Allmond Photography came in. Lauren agreed to photograph the wedding for me, and she did such a beautiful job. I am amazed not only by her creativity, but also by the kindness she has shown me. As I edited her wonderful photos, I felt like I was at the wedding and experiencing it all. I was left with some questions (what song did David perform for Maria??, why was someone wearing a fish head??, can I be friends with this bridal party??), but they just add to the mystery. Maria and David handled the situation with such gracefulness and and so much understanding. Even though I didn’t get to shoot their wedding, I will never forget how fun it looked or how nice they were about the entire situation. I wish them a big congratulations – I know they are going to have the most awesome marriage.

Kara + Matt

Posted September 30, 2016 | Category: Weddings

A few weeks ago in September, Kara and Matt had one of the most memorable weddings I’ve had the honor to be a part of. Aside from a day filled with impeccable style and attention to detail, it was an emotional day filled with love, family, and friends. They got married at The Garrison, which made for the most beautiful backdrop for their wedding. It was a very warm day (especially for this pregnant lady), but Kara & Matt and their bridal party were such good sports about the heat. Kara and Matt had a first look and then we went around the gorgeous property there to take some portraits. I could not get over how stunning the views of the Hudson Valley were. There were so many good spots I could have spent all day doing portraits. But before long, the strings were playing and Kara and Matt were exchanging personal wedding vows in front of their family and friends. Their ceremony was one I will remember for a long, long time. Next up it was time to party. The reception area was FILLED with personal details, family photos, gorgeous flowers, sunflower seed placecards and more, which I’m told was all due to Kara’s mom. The thought and attention she must have put into them was incredible, and made the wedding extra-special. I loved working with Kara and Matt. The special bond they have is so obvious, even in the way they look at each other. They are just really good, nice people, and I am so happy I got to tell their story. I can’t wait to see what the future brings them and wish them the best marriage ever.

Rachael + Ryan

Posted September 14, 2016 | Category: Weddings

On a hot day back in August, Rachael + Ryan got married at Trinity Church in Princeton. It was a day filled with family, friends, fun and laughter (& beer). As you’ll see from the photos, Rachael has a fantastic sense of style – from her wedding gown, to the flowered bridesmaids’ dresses, to the many details and decorations – you could see great attention went into all of her wedding choices, making it really memorable.

Over the past year I’ve gotten to know Rachael and Ryan, and I cannot say enough about what good people they are. I first met them last summer for their engagement session. Over this past year I’ve learned they are both kind, thoughtful, and intelligent individuals. As a couple, they are perfect for each other. I also shot Rachael’s best friend’s wedding earlier this year, so I feel like I’ve gotten to know their circle of friends and family, and they are all seriously the best.

Trinity Church was the most beautiful church and made a gorgeous backdrop for Rachael + Ryan’s touching ceremony. Afterwards, we walked over to Princeton University for some portraits, before heading to their awesome venue: Triumph Brewing Company. It was such a cool and unique venue, and one that celebrated their love of beer. (They even celebrated their 2 year anniversary at the brewery). I loved the layout of the venue, it’s exposed brick, and balcony overlooking the dance floor. It was so different, and the perfect place to celebrate Rachael and Ryan’s marriage. I wish them nothing but the best, and can’t wait to see what the future has in store for them. Congratulations you two!!

Jaclyn + Billy

Posted August 9, 2016 | Category: Engagements

At the end of June I met up with Jaclyn + Billy at the New Jersey Botanical Gardens in Ringwood for their engagement session. I had never been there before, but I was SO impressed with everything it had to offer. Around every corner we came across another beautiful backdrop. It reminded me of something out of a fairytale. And not to mention, the light that afternoon was perfect! Jaclyn and Billy are such a fun, down to earth couple. We were laughing the whole session. They were total naturals in front of the camera, and I think their photos turned out really lovely. Below are some of my favorites from our session.
